PRE-CAST FLUE Suitable for a wide range of slimline fires Built from concrete or clay blocks, pre-cast flues provide a rectangular section flue. They can be identified by a ridge vent or metal flue tube and terminal on the roof. BRICK CHIMNEY (Class 1) Suitable for all fires A conventional brick chimney is easily recognisable by a chimney stack with accompanying terracotta pot or gas terminal. BALANCED FLUE Balanced flue fires vent directly outside through a horizontal co-axial pipe. An outer pipe draws air in from the outside and an inner pipe expels combustion gases. PRE-FABRICATED FLUE (Class 2) Suitable for most fires This is an interlocking metal flue tube system easily identifiable by a metal flue and terminal on the roof and a metal flue box behind the fire. FLUELESS Requires no chimney, flue or access to an outside wall. Only requires a flat wall and appropriate ventilation. Flueless fires should only be used as a secondary source of heat.
