Growth in the UK underfloor heating market continues to increase. The ‘Underfloor Heating Market by Component - Global Forecast 2023’ believes sales will have grown 67% between 2016 and 2023, with an estimated value of above £150 million. With homeowners on the look-out for smart, energy efficient heating, demand for underfloor heating will continue to grow. AMA research suggests that it is estimated that water-based UFH systems are around 25% more efficient than radiators when used with a condensing boiler, and up to 40% more efficient when running from a heat pump.
With the launch of the UK government's Green Deal, energy saving measures were introduced to help homeowners make energy-saving improvements to their homes. As part of the scheme, gas boilers are due to be banned in new homes from 2025, to be replaced with renewable energy sources, such as solar panels or heat pumps.
Greater uptake of heat pumps in the renewables sector is also thought to have contributed towards increased growth in the market. They will continue to have an increasingly significant role following the ban of boilers in 2025 and in meeting the government’s 2050 carbon net zero target.

Controlled by a thermostat or programmer, Actuator valves operate to open or close an individual circuit on the manifold.
JG Layflat pipe is made from polybutylene which means it lays flat and flexibly turns around edges as it creates pipe circuits, helping speed up the pipe laying process in even the smallest and most awkward spaces. The pipe has an inner barrier to stop the ingress of oxygen molecules and is approved by British Gas for water pipe in vented and sealed central heating systems.

These smart generation thermostats when used with the free JG Underfloor Controls app can be operated remotely and is compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so homeowners can control underfloor heating anywhere at any time.
Manufactured from stainless steel and available in a range of sizes from 2to 12 zones. All manifolds are pre-assembled and feature JG Speedfit push-fit technology, making them quick and easy to install. Integrated within the manifold rail is a pre-assembled automatic air vent, filling valve and flow rate indicators for adjusting flow and isolating the pipe circuit.
Used to mix and control water temperature, JG Underfloor’s lightweight control pack connects directly to the manifold without the need of fixings. The nickel-plated control pack consists of a mixing valve, Grundfos A rated pump, return elbow, manifold adaptor and all necessary seals. JG Speedfit push-fit pipe connections can be made from the side or below the manifold. The pack also isolates all system components for maintenance purposes and can be mounted either side of the manifold for flexibility of fitting.
